Tablet work, alongside your phone repairs

    iPad & Tablet Repair Software
    for Phone Repair Shops

A tablet waiting for a screen should stay visible while the phone counter stays busy. RepairHub brings iPad and other tablet jobs into the same Workshop, parts records and customer handover as your everyday phone repairs.

    01 / IN PRACTICE

    Identify the tablet before quoting.

Confirm the model and generation at intake, then choose the matching device and repair entry. Do not use a broad label such as iPad screen repair to stand in for the exact device on the bench.

    02 / IN PRACTICE

Give waiting work a clear place.

A tablet held for a part or customer decision can sit in the Waiting group with its exact status still visible. It stays in the same operational view as phone jobs being repaired or collected.

    03 / IN PRACTICE

    Keep the next conversation useful.

Review the recorded customer-facing status before discussing progress. A job awaiting a part needs an explanation of what happens next, not an unsupported completion promise.

    A practical working day

When a tablet repair spans several days.

For a phone shop that also takes tablet work, the challenge is continuity: the person receiving the device may not be the person who receives its part or hands it back.

    STEP 01

Take in the job, not just the device.

Confirm the tablet model, reported fault and customer details at the counter. Select the appropriate catalogue repair, whether the request is for a screen, battery or charging-port service your shop offers.

    STEP 02

    Make the hold visible.

Use Awaiting Part or Awaiting Approval to reflect what is actually holding up the repair. Review the part order separately; receiving stock does not by itself mean the customer's repair is complete.

    STEP 03

    Resume, test and arrange return.

Once the hold is resolved, continue the existing repair workflow and testing. Mark collection or dispatch readiness accurately and review the balance before handover.

The board records progress; it does not calculate a guaranteed finish date. Confirm supplier availability and your workshop capacity before promising a tablet turnaround.

RepairHub manages tablet repairs alongside everyday phone-repair work in the same workshop. Explore our mobile phone repair shop software guide for the wider mixed-device business.

A shared bench, a distinct handover

Do not let the waiting tablet disappear.

An iPad repair can cross shifts and stock deliveries while shorter phone jobs move through the shop. Keep the reason for waiting explicit, and check the current record before giving the customer an update.

    A practical tablet-job review.

    • Check the exact model and configured repair entry before ordering a screen, digitiser or battery; names alone do not establish compatibility.
    • Use the internal status to distinguish waiting for a part from waiting for the customer's decision.
    • Keep staff detail and customer-facing progress distinct. Customers do not see every internal Workshop stage.
    • Use the appropriate collection or dispatch workflow. Postal service is optional and must be enabled by the shop.

    Practical questions.
    Clear answers.

Is this a separate product for tablet-only repair shops?

No. This page explains tablet and iPad work within RepairHub's phone-repair workspace. Shops that take tablet jobs alongside phones use the same catalogue, Workshop and parts tools, with the limits of their chosen plan.

How do I avoid mixing up iPad models and parts?

Confirm the exact model and generation before choosing the catalogue entry, then check the repair's supplier and SKU information. RepairHub stores those records but does not identify a tablet automatically or verify whether a particular digitiser, screen or battery is compatible.

Can a tablet job remain open while I wait for a part?

Yes. Use Awaiting Part to keep the job in the Waiting operational group until work can continue. Awaiting Approval is a separate internal status for a customer decision. A multi-day job remains part of the same Workshop as your phone repairs.

Will customers see every internal tablet repair stage?

No. Internal Workshop stages and customer-facing status are separate. Customers use the shop's status access with their booking details and secure link to see the relevant recorded progress. Do not promise an email for every internal stage or an automatically calculated completion time.

Do tablet customers have to book online?

No. Walk-ins are normal and staff can record them at the counter. Online booking is optional; if enabled, customers choose from the available device and repair catalogue. Postal intake is also optional, so only advertise it when your shop offers it.

Can I try the tablet workflow before subscribing?

Yes. Use the 30-day free trial to configure your tablet services and see how those jobs fit alongside phone repairs. RepairHub uses a monthly subscription after the trial; check the current plans and feature limits for your shop.
